Diary entry 96

Dear diary,
I haven’t started studying yet and it my paper in the morning. Eyes keep hurting these days, sleep cycle has gone awry, imagination is running wild. It’s like I don’t live in this world anymore. On one hand, these feelings are lovely but on the other hand they sometimes scare me. I mean being so happy might come with a price too. There is a part in me that’s preparing me for that big moment. But on the whole, I’m happy and it’s difficult not to be. I have the “bestest” friend, always around me, making me laugh, sometimes makes me blush and sometimes challenges me in various different ways. What else can a person ask for?!

Anyway, today DIG of Islamabad came just around mess time to sort out the things. Thank God! Somebody is paying attention at least. These hypocritical management people would’ve eaten the innocent female population alive if there wasn’t anyone before whom they were accountable. Do you want me to say it now, “On your face!!!?” Or would you like to put up some more stunts before we win again and say it, dear university management?
Anyway, Chloe is waiting for me to finish writing so that we can start studying.
So, gotta go……

Catch you some time later In Sha Allah!

Diary entry 95

Dear diary,
I’ve been up all night trying to study but instead having fun with my bestie. News of a strike were buzzing in the air all day and night. By the time it was 06:30 am, it felt something like strike was on so I went out too (Chloe went to sleep). But when me and some other hostel fellows reached male campus girls were retreating. We saw two or three buses entering university and girls came running back towards female campus, shouting block the campus, shut the doors and don’t alert the guards, keep silent. . . . . .blah,blah,blah. . . . .(Nope I’m not against you girls. I was there because I wanted to be. But there is something called management. We should all learn a bit of it at least!) Anyway, strike seemed an epic fail initially. What with the meager strength and lack of discipline. So I called my bestie at 08:00am to let her know that paper was on. Reluctantly she came to campus and saw a big crowd of day scholars and hostelites outside university blocks.
What happened today. . . . .
Well, yesterday, about 15 security guards entered female hostel block and threw a girl’s belongings out in open, assaulting her both physically and verbally (this has been happening from some past days. They are literally throwing out girls). And today some female students came out to condemn the act and they were abused verbally and some got beaten by the guards. Hearing this, those girls who were in hostel to study for their final exam came out to help out their sisters. And alhamdulillah some day scholars came and joined forces with hostel students and fought for our rights and our honour.
A big thank you to those brave girls who helped us. Our paper got postponed as my class showed unity (for the very first time in 2 and a half years)and sat out the paper time 😉 Management tried to force girls to give up and some of them were giving orders to guards to beat the girls if they have to. Seeing the chaos, lady police officers were summoned. There’s been an F.I.R filed against Provost and today was the hearing in court that Provost missed (I hope she is forced to resign for rusticating those innocent students, for snubbing our voices, for ordering assault of students by security guards, for being lying hypocritical . . . .ahem,ahem.Yeah! ).
The girl they expelled yesterday night was a PhD Scholar and hearing the unfortunate news, her father got a heart attack. Some mixed news are vibrating that he is serious and some say he died. University Administration isn’t allowing any Media to do the event coverage. Payed them off. Lets see how long are you able to keep our voices down. There will be a time when we would be able to say “On your faces, administration and the so-called disciplinary committee!”
Male population (or some of them) were promising they would make history and they would help their sisters. . . . .blah,blah,blah. Remind me again, why didn’t I trust even a single word you said yesterday :-/ Seriously guys,if you don’t wanna help, then don’t! Just stop acting like hypocrites! We already have enough on our hands, don’t need any more to worry about. Thank You very much!!!
Anyway,I’m too tired to go on right now.
Later, will try to upload the video Chloe just made. It’s a talk between Female DIG (if I’m not wrong),Provost and students.
Right now I need to get some sleep…….

P.S:I dunno why I keep awake on the exact night of strike and then tire myself :-/ I hate you,”Me!”

Diary entry 93

Dear diary,
I should be studying right now but here I am!
Listening to a song over and over again, shared by a friend, with book opened in front of me and laptop in my lap. Facebook open and talking to my little sister and loving the new transformation in her personality. Loving the change from “damsel in distress” to the “warrior girl.”Hostel is again buzzing with the news of strike and the management has parked buses in old campus again. Seriously management people, did that stop us before?

By the way,its our exam in the morning so I’m not thinking about any idiotic move this time. I have to prepare for my exam and I’m hoping it doesn’t get postponed.
Chloe is asleep. Left me to study by myself so that I can teach her later what I studied. But Kara is here, blogging, chatting on Facebook and listening to a lovely song. Shes gonna kill me when she wakes up 😀
Maybe I should try to get a little study done by the time she wakes up. For that I’ll have to start studying (which,I’m not at all in mood of). But a girl, even if she’s a super-girl,she’s gotta do,what she’s gotta do.
I should probably go now.
See you soon,if life permits.

Diary entry 92

Dear diary,
it was a fun day yesterday. Enjoyed a LOT. Went out with my bestie only to find………well, lemme start from the start 🙂

The strike I was talking about, some time ago, I was a part of it. In fact I was one of those few people who helped make the initial head count, one of those who fought on the frontline. We were among the first soldiers. Without even an hour of night sleep, when girls came to tell at 04:00 am that strike was on, I left my warm bed with my bestie and got to hostel entrance. By the time I reached the Hostel door, it was open and the credit goes to none other than my bestie- Chloe 🙂

Side by side we marched in extreme cold night towards our destination-University Gates(Management thought that if they will park the buses in old campus of our university there wont be any strike. Well on your face management!!! :p ). On our way, met some girls from other hostel blocks and joined them. When we reached first gate, it was already blocked by our fellows so we proceeded to the next one. Same situation there too. So we went on to the 3rd gate. That was our stop. Some others went to the 4th one to block it. Stood in that extreme cold for 6 hours, stopped at least 6-8 university buses which included an employee bus and both male and female student buses. Had lots of fun while waiting for University Management to come down there and listen to our demands.
By the way, by our university laws, it’s illegal to participate in any strike but to hell with rules when they are to snub our voices when we are right!
Anyway, the very next day one of our demands was met and (alas! I missed the big moment as I had already gone to my roomie’s place to have some fun.) Girls saw one of the wardens (who used abusive language with girls) leave and celebrated in delight.
The rule that said that we had to pay a fixed mess bill amount of Rs 5,000 and the rule of hostel entry time to be 5 pm were over ruled too.
And then came revenge time!
Now university management is taking action against female participants of the strike as strike was illegal and things got out of hand a little when males joined females on one gate. Stuff happened that shouldn’t have happened. Not on the side I was but on the exact opposite side. But still wrong things are wrong, no matter who does them.
Anyway, Management is sending letters to homes of girls who were a part of the strike-or at least those whom they know 😉 Some seats have been cancelled and yet again misbehaviour with those girls, it’s condemnable. The way they are throwing belongings of those few girls out, this is not the right way to deal with stuff like this. Remind me again, why did we come to a university?!
Anyway, back to where I started from. I was going out with Chloe when we saw some girls standing and blocking the gate. We went closer and found out that girls are on strike yet again. This time, against the disciplinary action taken by the management and their misbehaviour. Saw a media person taking their interview, yet again. Anyway, we were in a hurry so had to take a longer alternate route to get outside university premises. Had a lovely time with her. The chat and work and shopping…………… By the time we were actually free it was very late (happening from past two nights). I told her, if we are late today we are writing Chloe and Kara instead of our real names and then make a super girl sign instead of actual signatures and will write Krypton on place of place from where we came 😉

Did just that. Chloe stopped to take pictures and guard uncle came to investigate. He asked if we wrote wrong names. And Chloe replied “For the very First time we wrote our actual names.”
Gave me a big laugh.
Anyway, a day spent enjoying, is a day well spent!
Love to be with you Chloe. Cherish every moment of our time together-today, tomorrow and always!

P.S: It’s almost 7 am and Chloe just showed me her cute friend from India. Nice chat dude and nice to finally put a face to your most often heard name.

Dear diary,
Girls side is buzzing with the news of strike from hostelites in the morning. Our ex-Provost and my Head of Department, when she was made to leave the office of Provost, people here were so happy (including me.I don’t like her even a little bit) But then the new Provost came and made some ridiculous rules. The girls who used to fight when their mess bill was anywhere near 2000 Rs are furious because provost fixed the amount to 5000 Rs,irrespective of how many meals were taken.
Then there is the rule that every girl has to return to hostel before 5p.m and regular classes end at 05:30 p.m and at 08:30p.m for MS students.
God save the Queen!
There are some more rules like going home only on weekends, washing our clothes only on weekends, can’t use university transport except on Sundays, can’t go home after 5p.m unless our family comes to pick us from hostel. No internet after 1 a.m.
I mean seriously, did she think she would get away with these rules and girls wont say a word?
And to add spark to the fuel, most of university related pages of facebook have practically become a war-front for males and females.Females are so touchy about the subject that they would gladly lecture anyone who tries to antagonize them tonight and you know guys. . . .they are doing just “That!!!”
I am a very neutral kinda person most of the time. But,hell, even I have objection on some of those rules. If I go home on a weekend, there is no way I can make it back to hostel before 5p.m unless I start my journey at 10 am or so.Leaving uni on Friday reaching home on Friday night and then again leaving for uni early on Sunday morning. Its like going just to touch my destination and running back to the pavilion.I’m not competing in a race for God’s sake!
:-/
Anyway,If there is a strike I would be sure to be a part of it.Even if it means getting out of my bed at 5am and marching towards transport office and blocking the way of my uni buses. Not to get those rules changed, but just for the sake of fun 😉

Anyway,my meds are making me drowsy again-ALREADY!!! :/

Catch you later,if life permits 🙂

Dear diary,
I haven’t been me for some past days. With the cold growing outside,my throat has become a torture. Bad voice, cough attacks . . . . And when I take medicines,I sleep the whole day and the whole night :/ Its irritating.
I went to my university doctor today and she prescribed an inhaler.I’ve been feeling a little better since then but dizziness just wont leave me alone 😦
I had something in my mind before taking a long nap, that I wanted to talk about, here. But can’t remember it now,at all.
Only two of my class presentations are left and then finals . . . . .
My department is conducting a trip to Kallar Kahar,Khewra and Fort Katas.I wanted so much to go,still do. But my mum wants me to stay put. Saying that there have been several accidents in past few days, due to fog, killing at least 13 people in my own city alone. I still wanna go,but maybe I wont, just for my mum’s satisfaction. Plus,if my whole journey is spent in drowsiness,it wont be very fruitful.

Anyway,it’s almost mess time.
Catch you later in sha Allah!

Diary entry 86

Dear diary,
Its been a fun weekend. I sneaked out of my hostel to go to my bestie’s place. Babies here are so damn cute. One in particular, the smallest one,who keeps smiling at me and when I call his name he just laughs and becomes shy. Love it!
Miss my own family seeing all this love in the air but seems like I wont be getting a chance to meet them before my finals end.
Went to a seminar on Wednesday in my university where I had the time of my life. And today I was bombarded with lots of questions from the head organizer of that seminar. Things she wanted to know, that didn’t concern her even in the least. And I just told her to back off. If someone needs to talk to me they better come to me directly. I don’t have patience to entertain messengers.
Gawd!!! She messed up with my mind and irritated the hell outta me.
But like I said before, what doesn’t kill you, makes you strong.
Anyway, having a lot of fun with my bestie. Glad to have come to her place.
And glad to have your cheerful usual self back.
Girl,you rock this world!!!
Love ya into bits and pieces

P.S:Thanks for not letting tensions take hold of you and showing me your “bestest”side there could ever be 🙂
Love.
